Dear Members of the Canadian Federation of Junior Leagues (CFJL),

It gives me great pride to recognize the CFJL and to especially celebrate the 85^th anniversary of the Junior League of Toronto. The need for people to step forward to improve conditions in their communities knows no boundaries and for more than 80 years, Junior League members in Canada have done just that. Countless Canadian women have developed skills for community and civic leadership through their Junior League training which has rippled throughout the broader community.

Not only have you played a significant role in bettering lives in Halifax, Hamilton-Burlington, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto through your community programs, but you have also inspired your sister League members across four countries, particularly with your work on domestic violence and childhood obesity, the latter being the inspiration for the successful AJLI initiative, Junior Leagues' Kids in the Kitchen. In addition, you remind us how much we have in common as members of a global community with similar issues confronting us.
